Electric Charging Points
Published: 29 November 2018
To support local residents in the use of electric vehicles, two electric vehicle charging points have been installed next to the Town Council offices in Franklin Avenue. The points are available to members of the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The points have been 75% funded by a grant from the Government Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
Any resident that wishes to make use of the charging points can do so by downloading the Podpoint app to their phone.
Chairman Jo Page said: ‘We want to encourage our residents to switch to more environmentally friendly vehicles and there are some residents who are unable to charge their vehicles at their homes. By providing these publicly available points this now means those residents can now charge their vehicles locally.
